Master Massive

Master Massive is a Swedish heavy metal band from Skövde, Västra Götaland, formed in 1993 by guitarist/vocalist Jan Strandh (out of the ashes of Zanity and Act). They are known as a cult act blending traditional/epic heavy metal with progressive and doom elements.

The band has a long history but releases sparingly, earning a reputation as one of Sweden’s “most active inactive” acts due to their perfectionist approach. Their sound draws from 1970s/1980s influences including Mercyful Fate, Candlemass, early Fates Warning, Queensrÿche, Black Sabbath, Queen, Genesis, and Jethro Tull. Expect epic songwriting, dual/triple vocal harmonies, intricate guitar work, organ, and a mix of doomy atmospheres with progressive structures and classic heavy metal drive. Recent material features a distinctive three-vocalist approach.
