Defiled Serenity

Defiled Serenity is a melodic death metal band from Loimaa, Finland, founded in 2021 by vocalist Paavo Laapotti, who is also known as the frontman for Before The Dawn and a runner-up in The Voice of Finland (2022). The band draws heavily from the 1990s Gothenburg melodic death metal sound, inspired by bands like In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, Amorphis, and Amon Amarth, while incorporating modern twists. Their music features low growls, heavy guitars, melodic riffs, and tight rhythms, with lyrical themes exploring depression, death, and personal struggles, often serving as a therapeutic outlet for Laapotti.
