#1 - Selda was the initial recording name of Selda Bağcan (born 1948 in Muğla, Turkey); Turkish folk singer-songwriter, guitarist, music producer and founder of the Majör Plak label. Regarded as a heroine of the Anatolian invasion, she has a powerful voice and charged lyrics gave her the moniker of "the Joan Baez of Turkey". She's a protest-singer and an activist, and belongs to the Alevi religious and cultural minority.
