Beschreibung
Starmachines is an electronic music project formed in Los Angeles in 2007, known largely for their aggressive rhythms and introspective vocals. Although inspired by many styles of music, the Starmachines sound is primarily a blend of EBM, Synthpop and Power Noise. Starmachines began as a solo project from David Chamberlin. In 2009, Alan De Forest joined the band as live electronics player, and supporting vocalist. In 2010, Al De Ramos (Interstitial) joined as live synth player.
The music of Starmachines began as a backlash to the widespread institutionalization of modern American society, and the damage caused by surrendering one's own quality of life in the exchange for safety and security. But, the music has since broadened to encompass a global perspective, and focuses on themes revolving around human intimacy, isolation, and primitiveness.
Starmachines' first releases were EP's intended for DJ's and promoters, "Catalyst" (2007), "Shattered" (2008), and "Violent Light" (2009). When "Violent Light" was completed, Starmachines had begun to receive frequent club and radio play, and been asked to play several local shows in Southern California. After Alan De Forest joined the band, Starmachines had its first show at Club Skandal in Riverside on June 20th, 2009.
In March 2010, Starmachines had their first official release, "Fatal Drone," a self-produced 5-song EP. The band plans to release their first full-length album by summer 2010.
