Atomic Kitten

Atomic Kitten was an English girl group formed in Liverpool in 1998, originally consisting of Kerry Katona, Liz McClarnon, and Natasha Hamilton. The group was founded by Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark members Andy McCluskey and Stuart Kershaw, who served as principal songwriters during the group’s early years.

The band released their debut album "Right Now" in October 2000, which reached number 39 on the UK Albums Chart. After five top ten singles, original member Katona left the group four weeks before "Whole Again" reached number one in the UK Singles Chart. She was replaced by former Precious singer Jenny Frost. "Whole Again" became Atomic Kitten’s most successful single, topping charts in the UK for four weeks, in Germany for six weeks, and in several other territories. In the UK it became the 13th-best-selling single of the 2000s. The group re-released their debut album with Frost’s vocals on some tracks; the album reached number one in the UK and was certified double platinum with sales exceeding 600,000 copies.

Between 2002 and 2004, Atomic Kitten released two further studio albums, "Feels So Good" and "Ladies Night", along with a greatest hits album. "Feels So Good" also achieved double platinum status in the UK. The group has had three UK number-one singles: "Whole Again", the fourth-best-selling song by a girl group in the UK; "Eternal Flame", a cover of a song by the Bangles; and "The Tide Is High (Get the Feeling)", originally recorded by the Paragons. Atomic Kitten has sold over 10 million records worldwide.

After sporadic appearances between 2005 and 2008, McClarnon, Hamilton, and Katona reunited for the ITV2 series "The Big Reunion", alongside pop groups B\*Witched, Five, Liberty X, Honeyz, and 911. Frost was unable to participate due to pregnancy. Katona left the group a second time in December 2017. Frost returned briefly in 2021 before departing again, and Hamilton announced her departure in October 2024 to focus on solo projects.
