ヴァージュ

VIRGE (initially written as ヴァージュ) was a visual kei band active from 2017 to 2024, and were part of the kote kei subgenre. The group was initially formed by former members of Mediena (メディーナ) and MALISEND, and their first live performance took place at Ikebukuro BlackHole on May 6, 2017. The original lineup featured vocalist Ryo (遼) from Mediena, and three members from MALISEND – guitarist Sizuki (紫月), bassist Shin (沁) and drummer Aru (或), who joined in August 2017.

The band went through several lineup changes during their career. Bassist Shin left the group in November 2018 after a final performance on November 11. Shortly after, in December 2018, new members Hiryu (氷龍) on guitar and Yuri (憂璃) on bass joined the band. In February 2019, VIRGE signed with the visual kei label Speed-disk.

In December 2021, drummer Aru departed from the group, leading to another lineup change with Tatsuya (達也) joining as the new drummer in early 2022. Around the same time, the band changed the typeset of their name to VIRGE, and their association with Speed-disk came to an end.

In mid-2022, VIRGE began releasing their music through Timely Records, and by June 2023, they officially signed with the label's sublabel, TIMEZONE RECORDS. However, further lineup disruptions occurred when bassist Yuri left the band in October 2023, and a new bassist, Soushi (颯熾), was introduced later that month.

The band's final chapter began in March 2024, when guitarist Sizuki was fired due to a loss of contact and ongoing problematic behavior. This event led to the band's decision to disband. Their final performance was held on May 6, 2024, at Veats Shibuya, marking the end of their seven-year run. After the disbandment, vocalist Ryo went on to become the vocalist of a new project, Azavana.
