состояние птиц (can be translated as 'condition of birds' and pronounced as 'sostoyaniye ptits') was formed in 2009 in Saint-Petersburg, Russia. It is pretty hard to describe the genre the band played: it is very dark, atmospheric, and melancholic music with the use of violin.

In 2010 состояние птиц released their first untitled EP. In 2011 they released the second EP and the split with Swedish band Heart On My Sleeve. In 2012 their self-titled LP was released and in August the same year they played with Swedish band Suis La Lune in Saint-Petersburg.

Unfortunately, in May 2013 состояние птиц broke up.
