DIE/MAY

DIE/MAY is a visual kei metal band formed by members from Sweden and Finland. The band combines dark, heavy, and melodic sounds with lyrics in both English and Japanese. The current lineup includes Finnish vocalist TSUOMASU, Swedish guitarist riotcolor, and bassist RITSU. They are supported by drummer Juza. Over the years, DIE/MAY has performed live shows in Japan and Sweden.

The band was founded in Helsinki, Finland, in early 2013 by guitarists riotcolor and TSUOMASU. Vocalist SEIKE, also from Sweden, joined shortly after in the spring of 2013. DIE/MAY officially debuted on October 7, 2013, followed by the release of their first digital single, LOVESESSED, on October 20, 2013.

In 2014, DIE/MAY continued to build momentum with the release of the maxi-single THE RETURN on May 4, and later that year, they put out the digital mini-album MELANCHOLIC illusion on December 19. Over the next couple of years, they released a series of singles, including TRAPNEST on May 10, 2015, and BLACK SWAN on October 15, 2015. They also performed live at events such as Tracon 2015 in Tampere, Finland, and the WORLD VISUAL FESTIVAL in Tokyo on October 18, 2015.

In 2016, DIE/MAY participated in the KEIOS FESTIVAL'16 in Stockholm, Sweden, before experiencing a significant lineup change when vocalist SEIKE departed on August 10. This led to a temporary hiatus for the band. However, they re-emerged in 2017, with TSUOMASU switching roles from guitarist to vocalist. Their comeback was marked by the release of the digital single DEUS on February 28, 2017, and a live performance at Gloria in Helsinki on May 5, 2017.

In November 2018, DIE/MAY released their debut full-length album ODIUM, featuring 14 tracks. The band continued to perform live in Helsinki throughout 2019, participating in events such as EMERGENZA and TUSKA-TORSTAI.

Despite the challenges posed by the global pandemic, DIE/MAY remained active, performing at EMERGENZA FESTIVAL in early 2020 before resuming live performances later that year.
